Retrosketches #2 - Fresh Vintage in Blue

Just thought I might squeeze in another entry at Retrosketches, seeing as I had so much fun with the first card.    (You can check out the DT's inspiration pieces & all the other entries here.)  Here's my second card:-

& here's another look at the sketch:-

I've stuck to the orientation of the sketch this time, letting the sentiment shine in the top panel.  The underneath panel has been stamped all over with the floral image from SU's Fresh Vintage set.  It kind of reminds me of my Grandmother's china.  :)

Thanks to the Team at Retrosketches for the awesome sketch!

Card Components  All SU
Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Marina Mist
Stamps:  Word Play, Fresh Vintage
Inks:  Night of Navy

Retrosketches #2 - Variegated Tree

There's a new challenge called Retrosketches, which I missed out on playing in last week & have only just made it for this week!!!  Here's my entry:-

& here's the sketch:-

I've rotated the sketch, counter-clockwise by 90 degrees.  I wanted to have a subtle sentiment panel, so I opted to emboss the wording on a vellum panel, which kept it as more of a background feature.

To get the variation in the tree leaves I inked up the stamp, first with Limeade, then slightly in from the top edge with Olive & then a careful inking around the trunk with Artichoke, before huffing on the rubber & stamping.  I added shading to the trunk with a marker, before stamping, then tweaked it a bit more with markers & a blender pen after I had stamped.

You can check out the DT's inspiration pieces & all the other entries here.

Card Components  (SU except as noted)
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Vellum
Stamps:  SU Petite Pairs (sentiment)
Inks:  Lucky Limeade, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Early Espress, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Other:  Mini Brads, Clear Embossing Powder
Non SU:  Nesties, PTI Through the Trees

I had a request to make another poppy card:-

So I used this week's sketch by Jen Mitchell at Freshly Made Sketches:-

I've mirrored the sketch, to better suit the sentiment panel, which is popped up on dimensionals:-

It's a perfect layout for showcasing the poppy.  Thanks Jen.  :)

Just Add Ink #107 - Just Add Nikki!!!

This week's challenge at JAI is one I just couldn't miss out on, CASEing the beautiful work of Design Team member, Nikki Spencer.  The very first piece of Nikki's work I came across blew me away, with her striking colour combo, & I've been a stalker ever since, lol!

For my entry, I've used the colours from that very first "introduction" & a very beautiful Christmas card of Nikki's, (which I was very excited to receive).  Here's my card:-
