CASE-ing the Catty #60 - CASE-ing Judy May!

Welcome!  It is our final hop for CASE-ing the Catty for 2015, so to celebrate a wonderful year, we are CASE-ing a fellow team member.  I am excited to be CASE-ing one of Judy May's beautiful designs.

I was inspired by this fabulous card & you find all the details in Judy's post here.

Stampin' Up! 'Home for Christmas' DSP and Festive Flower Builder Punch. Judy May, Just Judy Designs

Here is my take on Judy's project:-

I loved the layout of Judy's card & the clever use of the Festive Flower punch, where Judy omitted the largest petals to make a bloom which is the perfect size for a standard card.   The two-toned sentiment was another design feature that really appealed to me, but unfortunately, I didn't have a small enough sentiment that worked, so I substituted a sentiment panel for the gorgeous vanilla ribbon in the original design, rotating the layout 90 degrees to suit.  I used basic black cardstock, silver foil & a Winter Wonderland vellum print (used reverse side up) to recreate all the lovely layers.  The poinsettia is created from silver embossed vellum with a black glimmer centre, finished off with a rhinestone.

You can see the black & silver embossed sentiment slightly better here:-

Each member on the Hop will be CASE-ing the Crew member whose name follows theirs on the list that is shown on the CTC post (simply click on the graphic):-

Next on the hop is Judy, who will be CASE-ing Rachel.  :)  You can find Judy's post by clicking on the "next" arrow below.

The lovely Simone Bartrum will be CASE-ing one of my designs & you will find her project here.  :)

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful Christmas & New Year!  See you again in 2016!

CASE-ing the Catty #59 - Cutie Pie Christmas Trees

Welcome to the CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop!  Thanks for joining us.  :)

This week we are using the theme of "Christmas Trees" from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue to inspire our projects.  There are lots of tree images scattered throughout the catty in stamps, dies & DSP.  I was inspired by the picture at the top of page 42 to create my own simple, little trees.

I have made a couple of gift cards with different trims, as well as a place marker for the table:-

Here are the trees that I was inspired by:-

& here is how I made mine, using the Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies:-

You will need a piece of cardstock approx. 6" wide x 5" high.  On the 6" edge, mark at the centre point (3"), score & fold.  Place your cardstock with the folded edge aligned with the score line of the die (as shown above in top right image) & roll through your Big Shot.

You need to trim away the excess cardstock at the base of the tree, but you have a beautifully scored guide line to assist you.  Then add some cute decorations to suit.  Easy peasy!  :)

The rest of the Crew have some amazing designs to share & you can work your way around the entire Hop by following the links in each post.  Simply click on the "Next" button below to go to Alison's fabulous project.  (If you want to skip backwards, you will find Rachel's beautiful project here.)
