CASE-ing the Catty #53 - Happy Haunting!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop!  This week the Crew are working with the Happy Haunting section of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue (pages 46-49).

I took inspiration from the candy jars on page 46.  I liked the simple labels with banners & the lacy look of the black doilies.  I dyed some incolour lace trim with staz on re-inker to get some cool black ribbon for my first jar, filled with blood orange mini jelly beans:-

Then I made a Christmas jar with mint macaron (& filled it with mini mints):-

& then I made a bright birthday jar (filled with smarties, yum!):-

& here are all three goodie jars together (♥ the SU black, dazzling diamonds & red glimmer paper used on the banners):-

The lace trim dyes quite nicely.  Just pop a length in a snap lock bag, add several drops of Staz On re-inker & work it through the ribbon inside the bag.  Pull the trim out with tweezers & lay it on a couple of layers of paper towel to air dry.  Each incolor trim will result in a different shade.  I have used the taupe trim on my Halloween jar.  If you use the mint, you will get more of a slate grey colour & if you use the dijon you will get a dark bronze type of colour.  I haven't experimented with the watermelon or cucumber trims yet.  :)
