To start the Inkspirations Challenges off with a bang this year, Keesh has a colour challenge for you to play with:-
I thought I would have a bit of an experiment with these colours & here's my card:-
When you look at the rest of the Team's cards, you might think I've used the wrong colours! No, I just thought I would use them a little differently by making a spritzed background (details below). :)
Spritzed Background:
Whisper White Cardstock
Peach Parfait Inkpad
Baja Breeze Inkpad
Riding Hood Red Inkpad
Mist Spray Bottle of Water
Plastic Sheet (I used one of the thin plastic cutting mats)
Firstly, using an edge of the inkpad, I made horizontal bands of colour on the plastic sheet, starting with the peach stripes first, then the baja & making the red stripes last. Then I spritzed the ink bands with water. Next I lifted up one edge of the plastic mat to make the colours run into each other a bit. Then I laid the whisper white panel directly onto the wet plastic mat. I laid a piece of scrap paper over the top & pressed my hand over it to make sure the whisper white had picked up all the colour from the mat. I left this panel to dry & then created the card. The fun part about this technique is that you never know what you will get until you're done! :)
Here's a close up of the details:-
