Doggy In The Window

Hi!  This week I was able to play along with the challenge at Michelle Perkett's Studio.  The challenge is to use a favourite colour combo, plus lace & pearls, as well as one of Michelle's beautiful digital stamps.

I really had fun with this one!!!!  :)

I chose to use "Scooter" (an adorable, fluffy puppy), plus the flowers from "Just Breathe" (a gorgeous mermaid).

Here is my creation, using a yummy blue & cream colour combo:-

My own doggy (a beautiful, long-haired shepherd named Asha) sits in the window like this, waiting for my hubby to come home.  It seemed appropriate to use part of the "miss you so much" sentiment stamp on the wall plaque to express how Scooter was feeling!

The card is a shadow-box design.  Here is a photo looking down on the card so you can see how it is assembled.  For instructions on how to make a basic shadow box card, visit Dawn Griffith's site (here).

The front & rear panels are 5.1/2" x 5.1/2", scored in from each side at 1/2" & then at 7/8".

Other than papercraft, I also have a "thing" for domestic architecture & love these American style windows.  I created & cut the window frame, window surrounds, window sill & shutters on my Craft Robo.  Scooter & the flowers were printed by Laser [thanks Lynne! :)] on watercolour paper & then coloured with watercolour pencils & an aquapainter, as well as markers & glitter pens.  I fussy cut them out with scissors, which was very tricky as Scooter is only 1.1/2" tall!

Scooter, the wall plaque, the window shutters & the flowers are all attached to the card using dimensional adhesive.  I have used embroidery floss for the "vines" on the shutters & acetate for the window "glass".

Thanks to Tammy & the DT at Michelle Perkett's Studio this week for such an awesome challenge!
